Cirrocumulus
Berlin, Germany, June 2003
The cirrocumulus formation is basically the same cloud as the stratocumulus and altocumulus but at higher altitude. It is, however, not as common as its low- and medium-level counterparts. Due to the low temperatures on high levels, the typical inversion pattern is not as easily spotted as the cloud's ice crystals give it a cirrus like appearance.

Same pattern as above but with even smaller and fainter 'cells' visible.

Cirrocumulus
Stellenbosch, South Africa, January 2003

This cirrocumulus is very thin and lets the sun shine through like from a blue sky. No one would complain over bad weather with this cloud in the sky.

Interesting wave formation resembling an altocumulus, but much higher.

Cirrocumulus
Miami, Florida, USA, January 2000
This cirrocumulus is very thick and a pattern is clearly seen so the cloud temperature is probably quite warm and at an early stage. Although it looks like the cloud here is quite low, it is at a very high level.
